CSS vs. Table based Layout in APEX

Hi,

i found a post, which is two years ago: 1027081

Now, my question is what do you think is the better way for APEX today?

Should I create a CSS or a Table based layout?
What are the pros and the cons?

I haven`t got enough experiences to have a clear position in this discussion...
