CRS-0184: Cannot communicate with the CRS daemon

Hi there,

Environment: AIX, Oracle 11gR2 Single Instance Database, ASM used for storage

The development database ran out of space, ASM and database instances shut down.

I cleared space and want to bring up ASM with the db instance but when I run this:

ASMCMD> startup
ORA-01078: failure in processing system parameters
ORA-29701: unable to connect to Cluster Synchronization Service
Connected to an idle instance.

Can anyone please guide me through.
