Cross platform migration from AIX

We are planing to migrate oracle 11g database  from Aix platform to the oracle linux (Exadata) . We can use oracle datapump method but it can be slow for large database. Customer want to migrate database within minimum downtime . However at the moment we have decided to use transportable tablespace method.

Following systems are going to be migrated:

Production

oracle db version    : 11.2.0.1

Operating System    : AIX

New Server

oracle version         : 11.2.0.4

Operating System   : Oracle Lunux 6

Database size            :    1TB

1) What is the best method we can propose for such a environment      ?

2) How can we minimize the cutover time ?
