Creating a standby database with a different OS user than the primary

2687097Jul 18 2014 — edited Jul 18 2014

Hi,

Below is my environment.

Primary server

owner/OSuser=oracle

Node =Primary

Standby server

owner/OSuser=oraprd

Node =Secondary

My question is: Can we build a Standby database of the primary database on the secondary node even if the primary and standby osuser/owner are different?

If so, are there any specific issues to be considered/noted? Do we have any issues regarding log shipping etc due to permission issues? Any pointers much appreciated.

Regards,

Raj
