Create an Oracle RAC 10g Release 2 using VMware Workstation 6 - (RHEL 4)
439075Jul 28 2008 — edited Jul 29 2008Hi,
I've just followed all instructions from (http://www.idevelopment.info/) to install Oracle RAC on vmware 6 on below host machine:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WMware Version - VMware Workstation 6
Host Machine - HP Pavilion dv6830us Laptop
Operating System - Windows Vista® Home Premium with Service Pack 1
Memory 3GB installed - (Each virtual machine will take 700MB from this 3GB)
Internal Hard Drive 250GB (5400RPM) Hard Drive (SATA)
External Hard Drive 1TB (SimpleTech)
Processor Intel® Core™2 Duo processor T5550.
File System NTFS
USB 2.0 connection
Everything gone fine till "Create the Oracle Cluster Database" step.
The process is running over more than 6 hours and I have now 46% completed. No errors! The process is just still running…
Is it a normal behavior? Did someone already do such kind of installation? During the installation process the host CPU is working very high.
Note: I`ve already tried to install and configure Oracle 10g for a single instance and the process finished faster.
Thanks,
Marcello M.
