Create a fast dashboard with drill-down highchart

Hello Everybody

Apex 5.0.4

I like the drill-down capabilities in dashboards that are provided by Packaged Applications. However, you have to submit pages and wait for the breakdown results.

I hope to design a sample for a fast dashboard using highchart like this one

However, it doesn't mention how to pass JSON data dynamically to the highchart. I know that I could use htp.p in a LOOP in a dynamic PL/SQL region to generate the series and data. But I hope to know the best practices in such case. So, my question is

Is it better to use APEX_JSON or what is the best technique and how?

I would appreciate any help.
