Count number of sessions over a period of time

I have noticed there is a number of sessions at the top of the snapshot. I want to extract this figure to create a graph of sessions historiacaly over a period of time. Does anyone know where this figure is stored or how it is calulated so I can extracted it with sql.

I have looked but cannot find it.
