Could not pass parameter thru response.sendRedirect

Actually I am able to pass paramters from jsp to another jsp using response.sendRedirect("http://redirecturl?x="somedata) but sometimes i am getting pagenot found error, the reason being the no of characters of 'somedata' exceeds 2000, is there any way to transfer huge data between jsp s using response.sendRedirect

any help is greatly appreciated
