Hi All,

i need to test block corruption recovery on my Test Instance RHEL 4 ORacle 11.5.10.2
how do we corrupt blocks? manually / scripts

i tried following the procedure mentioned at http://momendba.blogspot.com/2008/02/practicing-block-recovery-in-oracle.html

But after i edit the datafile, getting the corresponding tablespace gives me
ORA-01157: cannot identify/lock data file 12 - see DBWR trace file
ORA-01110: data file 12: '/u02/oracle/testdata/corrupt.dbf'
ORA-27037: unable to obtain file status

HOw to edit the datafile in Liunx OS?
Please suggest

Regards,
SK
