Hello,
Background-
Let me first give you little background, please.
I had an Oracle 12c (12.1.0.2) database installed on an Oracle Linux VM. I have ODI installed on another Oracle Linux VM and on third, I have OBI EE.
ODI and OBIEE repositories, sources and targets were in the 12c database. Somehow, unfortunately, I managed to disturb the database VM while upgrading the VM Box and Extension Pack. The database VM was not booting as expected (there seemed to be selinux error).
I cloned theĀ erroneous database VM. After googling a bit, I can boot the cloned VM and also, I can start the database.
About me, I don't have any database management or Linux administration background.
Steps taken till now-
Before destroying the database VM, I cloned the VM. I also exported the VM using Export Appliance (too late, but just in case).
Before destroying the datavase VM, I checked that on the cloned VM, I could start the database, and also, run ODI Studio.
I destroyed the original VM.
I recreated a new VM and installed Oracle Linux on it.
Now, I want to use the new VM where I want to host the ODI and OBI EE repositories, and store sources and targets that exist in the cloned VM's database (structure, users, data; everything).
Ideally, I should have read (and attempted to read) the Oracle Database documentation, but considering my background, I would be happy to know the steps to be taken to move/copy/replicate the cloned VM's database in simple, easy to understand steps.
I guess I need to install the software first, and I am pretty sure I am not sure the next steps to be taken.
Could someone please help me to get started?
Thank you.
Regards,
Manoj.
