Copy HFM app without using app copy utility or LCM

Hi, can someone please let me know if there is an alternate way to copy HFM application from one environment to another, except for Copy App Util or LCM methods.

Will it work if we copy whole back-end DB? I know it works for planning app but wondering if it works for HFM.

The version of HFM is 11.1.2.0
