copy/clone oracle database to another server

hi there oracle expert. i have a situation here that i wnt to solve. how can copy/clone the oracle database from one server to another.

Server 1: -------------------------------------------->Server 2
Windows2000 server----------------------------->Windows2000 Server
ORacle 8i 8.1.7.0----------------------------------> oracle 8i 8.1.7.0

The oracle installation in server 2 would be the same as server1(directories, orahome,database name:) it is possible to install oracle home same as server1? Server 2 will serve as test server. because im going to test some programs that would not affect the production database.

Can i do this without shutting down the server1 dabatase? we have a ORADATA save. i think it is a daily database backup.
