Hi Henk,
I know this is a long shot, but I'm hoping you can help me.....
I'm using VDBENCH 5.04.03 and I'm trying to convert the output swat_mon.txt file for use with SWAT 3.02 batch reporter function to generate reports on RHEL 6.5.
Everything is going well. I can use VDBENCH to generate the load, and create the swat_mon.txt file (attached as swat_mon.original.txt)
I then use the awk program (attached as convert.awk.txt) to convert the data and headings into a format that SWAT 3.02 can read and interpret happily.
I can then happily run the swat reporter function, but I get an unparseable date exception (attached as swat_report_output.txt) that prevents my graphs from being created in batch mode.
I'm thinking it's likely that it's a problem with my date lines in my swat_mon.txt file, and have tried (so far unsuccessfully) to bodge up some word arounds. Now I understand that you're desupporting the SWAT functions of VDBENCH and have been told that there will be no future support / releases of SWAT, so here's what I propose:
- Given the null field in the unparseable date exception, I'm assuming that I need to format that :date lines my swat_mon.txt file in some way.
- I'm more than happy to make my own modifications to a the awk program I'm using, I just need to know what I should aim for (as I don't have any working examples of a good swat_mon.txt from an old version of vdbench).
- I did try and have a poke around in the source code of vdbench to see whether there was anything obvious from previously commented out methods, but I couldn't find anything.
- I'd have a look at the source code of SWAT 3.02, but that appears to not be available.
I'm happy to do the leg work, I was just wondering if you had an old example of a :date line of an old VDBENCH generated swat_mon.txt file that worked successfully with SWAT 3.02 reporter batch mode.
Likewise, a call out to the community, if you can help me out, just shoot me what my :date line should look like, and I'll give it a go.
Thanks in advance, and my continuing thanks and admiration for your VDBENCH efforts.
Sam
