Converting Date_WID column(Number Data type) into Date Column (Date Type)

Hi All,

Currently i am working on OBIEE 11g with BI Apps 7.9.6.3 for HR module, in the OOTB repository there are some WID fields that correspond to date but my reporting perspective is to display those in date format

Ex: ORIG_HIRE_DT_WID : 20120627 needs to converted to display as 27-Jun-2012

I tried using To_Datetime function but unfortunately it is not working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
