Convert Physical standby into 2 node RAC cluster DB

Oracle 11gR2 (11.2.0.3) SuSe Linux 64bit

All,

Not sure if this would go in the DG forum or RAC forum because it involved both.

I was wondering if anyone knew what steps we would take to convert a physical standby into a primary for a RAC cluster. I have not found the exact procedure in the documentation nor Oracle Support.

Here is what I have gathered:

Convert standby database to a Primary (switchover)

Install OCFS2

Install ASMlib

Install Oracle Clusterware

Instal ASM

Install DB software -----> problem is that I already have the software installed due to the existence of the standby

Go through manual steps to configure RAC.

Any advice would be appreciated.
