Contact type code not displayed in CCB v.25.4

Maria Rus-Oracle32 hours ago

In recent versions (CCB 25.4 and 2.8+), when creating a contact, the “Contact Type” field is presented as a dropdown list that only displays the label. In version 2.7, this selection was made via a search box that displayed both the label and the contact type code.

User Observations:

  • Loss of information perceived as a regression: the absence of the code makes identification slower (several types have similar labels) and complicates compliance with internal procedures that reference codes.
  • Impact on the efficiency and quality of data entry, particularly for support and testing teams working with code-based repositories.

Enhancement Request:

  • Add the display of the "Contact Type" code in addition to the label in the selection component (dropdown) when creating a contact.
  • Ideally, offer a "Contact Type - Label" format or at least an additional tooltip/column in the list.
If possible, make this behavior configurable (UI Hint/BO parameter or environment option) to adapt the display to customer needs.

Expected Benefits:

  • Reduced selection errors, improved execution speed.
  • Alignment with previous practices (2.7) and internal repositories.
  • Easier adoption for teams familiar with code.

Please indicate the feasibility, the proposed mechanism (configuration vs. standard enhancement), and, if relevant, a planning estimate.
