Consuming secure .NET Web Service from BPEL process

564325Apr 6 2007 — edited Apr 9 2007
Hello --

I'm running Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.2.0.2. I am trying to connect to a .NET Web Service that uses Basic Authentication and certificates. I'm past the problem with the certificates, but now need to pass my username and password to the service.

It's expecting a double transaction, that is, I call it without credentials, it responds with a 401 error and a session cookie, I respond with the credentials in the cookie, and everything will be copacetic. From looking at some of the .NET Web service documentation online, there is a .NET capability called "preauthentication" which enables one to send the credentials on the first call to the service and the service will accept them if valid.

How do I perform the preauthentication ritual from a BPEL process invoking this Web service?

Thank you for your time,

Paul Camann
