Connectivity Problem

when trying to connect with oracle Discoverer through application server it failed the error is
A connection error has occurred.
- A connection error has occurred.
- Unable to connect, possibly due to an invalid Applications GWYUID setting. Please contact your Discoverer manager.

whats the error or how to make a connection in oracle Discoverer

any suggestions for creating connection
