Connection reset by peer and socket time outs

Hi I'm using Oracle ORDS / APEX (ords.2.0.10.289.08.09) on Tomcat 8 with Oracle 11.2.0.4 (all on same box)

I'm getting sporadic failures in the log files of the type

SEVERE [http-nio-8080-exec-5] oracle.dbtools.rt.web.WebErrorResponse.internalError java.io.IOException: Connection reset by peer

and

SEVERE [http-nio-8080-exec-18] oracle.dbtools.apex.ModApexContext.write java.net.SocketTimeoutException

Can anyone help me try and diagnose the reason for this?
