Hello all,
I am running into an error that I cannot resolve. I originally downloaded and install 12cR2 onto a CentOS 7 VM for testing how to install an app that supports multiple RDMS's for its data.. All was successful and everything worked fine. Except the application that I am trying to install doesn't support the version I installed. That was an over site on my part. I went back and download 11G and tried to install it into a new CentOS 7 VM, I did not reuse the prior VM but I did clone the VM from a snapshot that had everything set up just short of the DB install. This time, on the first screen where you must enter your email address, I received a dialog demanding proxy server info. First, I am not using a proxy server, and second the 12cR2 install worked just fine. So I could not install the DB as I could not get past the dialog box. I then went and downloaded 12cR1 which was a supported DB for the app and tried to install it. Same issue.
Since I am not using a proxy server, and I can connect to the internet and do everything else network-wise. I have to assume this is not really a proxy issue and some sort of Oracle thing to keep one from downloading and installing multiple databases with out a license. I am not trying to do anything other than install the correct version for testing and documentation then the VM will be pitched.
How do I get past this screen? Can I contact someone at Oracle if this is a user restriction? I don't need an Oracle license or paid support, I just need one database for installing and testing my app that can potentially use Oracle for it's repository. Any help would be appreciated as I am far from an Oracle guru, but Linux-wise I am pretty solid.
