Connection error using PUTTY

Hi,

I have installed Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.2 on a windows XP notebook using VMWare workstation..the installation was completed successfully and I am able to log-in to Linux..However when I try to connect to Linux from a different machine using Putty, I am not able to do so and getting network error..so do i have to do anything on the Linux box to enable users to connect to it?

Would appreciate any imput…
