Connection Busy - Try Again Message Followed By Hanging

AnnBAug 20 2013 — edited Aug 20 2013

Environment:

SQL Developer Version:  Version 3.2.20.09 - Build MAIN-09.87

OS:  Ubuntu 13.04

Java Version:  /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk-amd64

Oracle Version:  11g

Steps:

1.  Connect to database instance.

2.  Navigate to a very large table in the Connection tab on the left and click on the table name.

3.  Grid appears on the right listing the table columns.

4.  Click on the data tab.

5.  Connection is currently busy - try again? message appears.

6.  SD hangs at this point.  Click on the buttons on the error message prompt box and there's no response.  Wait for several minutes and nothing happens.

7.  Forced to End Process using Ubuntu's System Monitor.

This doesn't happen 100% of the time.  But very often.  I have 4G of memory on my computer.  I did check the memory when this occurred and I was only at 34% of RAM usage.

Please let me know if there is any additional information I can provide.
