We are in the process of implementing encrypted listeners using ASO and the TCPS protocol. This involves having an Oracle wallet for each database server and a Windows wallet that contains all of the Server certs. Recently our developers have been given Mac Power Books. We aren't using Windows virtualization on these laptops. So we are not looking to create a Windows VM on the Mac Powerbooks. I suggested that the developers use an Oracle Linux VM with virtual box. With this option we would not need Windows licenses for each laptop. Plus Oracle Linux would probably need fewer resources than Windows. But they want to get PL/SQL developer connected using Java. Also I read on Oracle's support site that you can't connect to an encrypted listener with the instant client. Hence, even though the instant client works with Mac OS, we might not be able to use it.
Since Oracle does not provide a full Oracle client for Mac OS, what are other people doing to allow developers to connect to encrypted listeners from their Macs?
