Connecting to an AS/400 database in JDeveloper 10.1.3.0.4.3673

Hello everyone,

I have done some googling around to see what I can find out about connecting to an AS/400 database server in what I assume is currently the most recent version of JDeveloper (downloaded/installed/updated all today). My supervisor had me working on a project in Sun Java Studio Creator and asked me to make the same thing in JDeveloper so we could evaluate the pros and cons of each IDE. The project requires connecting to both an Oracle 10g database (I believe, it could be older...) and a database on some iSeries server. I was able to find and use an iSeries driver quite easily in JSC, but it appears that the driver is a bit harder to find in JDeveloper. I attempted to use the same driver that I used for JSC with JDeveloper, but I guess I do not understand Java enough yet to make it work.

Does anyone have any pointers or links to tutorials or whatever that could help out in this situation? I appreciate your assistance!

Cheers,
Josh
