Connecting from Linux to a remote database

I occasionally need to log in to the Oracle database server from at work from home. The server runs Oracle 9i on Solaris 9. At home I have Red Hat 8. I can telnet into the server and run sql*plus there, of course, but I would like to use a better front-end tool, such as TOra. How do I accomplish this?
