Connecting Forms 6i with Oracle 8i

Hi !

I have a doubt related to connecting Oracle Forms 6i with Oracle 8i personal edition.

Both of them are installed in different Oracle homes on Windows 2000 operating System ( FAT Partition). When I try to connect oracle forms
with Oracle 8i server installed on the same machine(local database), it gives "ORA- 12224: Cannot retrieve text for error message".

Somebody told me that I should start the oracle
server. I did that too. But it remains same.

I even copied the tnsnames.ora of Oracle8i to that of Oracle 6i forms. But again, I cannot connect forms with Oracle8i server. Do I have to set any environment variable (Oracle_home)? If yes, then to which value ?

Can anyone help me ?
