connecting a microsoft exchange server to an oracle database

Hi Folks

I've been asked to look into if its possible to link an oracle database with a microsoft exchange server so that the data (emails and a calender info etc) can be stored in the database and used in an apex application or if thats not possible allow the application to directly access the exchange server.

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to ask this in but as i thought it was along the lines of a database link this would be a good place to start
