Connect Via Read Only ODBC

Hello All. New Sign-up here. I will be developing some projects to an Oracle 10g back end. I will have read-only ODBC access to the source. I'd like to find a tool/GUI environment that allows me to run SELECT and other non writing statements for testing. Looks like the SQL Developer may work, however, wasn't sure if it can connect to a 10g DB via read-only ODBC.

I haven't worked with Oracle DB's before, but have extensive experience with SQL Server, and really like the "SQL Query Analyzer" that is part of the MS SQL Server Enterprise Manager package. Looking for something similar just to view output, debug, test, etc., before I create the apps and stored procedures.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Comments?
