Connect informatica on XP virtualbox to Oracle11g and obiee11g on windows7

Hi,

I have the current system config..
1. Windows7 Home basic 64bit
2. Installed Oracle virtual Box on it and loaded Windows XP 32 bit on it
3. trying to install Informatica Powercenter 8.6.1 in the XP environment.(client installed but server failing...)

Windows7 64bit- Oracle11g 64bit, OBIEE 11g 64bit
WinXP 32bit in the virtual box- Informatica powercenter client installed but problem while installing the server

Issue:
When installing the server, it asks to connect the oracle DB which is present in the Win7 env, I shared the C: drive of Win7(drive that oracle is installed) to the XP env and tried adding the ORACLE_HOME env variable in WinXP pointing to the Win7 oracle bin folder, however its unable to connect to the oracle DB.

Question:
Is it possible to connect the informatica installed in virtual env to the oracle installed in the Win7 env.
If yes, could anyone please help?
If they cant be connected then what is the proper way to install and work on informatica along with OBIEE11g on my Win7 64bit machine?

Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks in Advance

Regards,
Kiran
