Confusion about resizing db_cache_size

DB_CACHE_SIZE can be dynamically resize, but must be the size of an integer multiple of the granule size. The granule size is 4mb if SGA size is smaller than 128mb, and 16mb if SGA size is greater than 128mb. This means db_cache_size must be multiple of 4m or 16m. But when I resize it to 2m, it's successful. Why?
