Configuring MQ Adapter service in ESB

We are trying to connect to an MQ server by creating an MQ adapter service (Native MQ Service). We have made the changes needed - added an entry in the server.xml and in oc4j-ra.xml.

But when we put the message onto the Q in MQ, the adapter does not pick it up. which basically means that the adapter is not listening to the Q. IS there some thing else more to be done in the configuration.
