configure bonding in Oracle Linux 7.1

Bhupendra JhalaJan 12 2017 — edited Jan 16 2017

Hello,

We are planing to install Oracle Linux 7.1 in our production environment. currently we have test setup to check all aspect before go live on Oracle linux.

Can some one help which is the best way to configure bonding in Oracle Linux 7.1 as this has two method to achieve this.

1.) Traditionally  we were using in Linux version 5 & 6 that is managed by "network" service.

2.) now "NetworkManager" introduced in Oracle Linux 7.

which is the best way to do networking bonding in Oracle Linux 7.1 without reboot the server.

currently we have 4 ether port that is eno1 to eno4

eno1 --> has the IP address

eno2 --> enabled

eno3 --> not using

eno4 --> not using

we are planing to do bonding in "active-standby" mode with the "eno1 & eno2"  without reboot.

Regards,

Bhupendra
