Configuration assistant "Oracle Services For Microsoft Transaction Server" failed

user11188706Oct 17 2017 — edited Oct 18 2017

Hi,

I encountered the following error when I tried to install Oracle Database 12c 12.1.0.1.0 (Enterprise Edition) on Windows 8. This was done using the Oracle Universal Installer.

INFO: Starting to execute configuration assistants
INFO: Command = oracle.install.config.common.MTSInternalPlugIn C:\app\<username>\OraHome_1/bin/oramtsctl.exe MTS -new   ${S_WINSERVICEUSERPASSWORD}

Command = oracle.install.config.common.MTSInternalPlugIn has failed

INFO: Configuration assistant "Oracle Services For Microsoft Transaction Server" failed

I exited the installer and attempted to run in the Oracle Services for MTS manually from the command line

C:\app\<username>\OraHome_1\BIN>oramtsctl.exe -new
OracleOraHome1MTSRecoveryService service is being created.
OracleOraHome1MTSRecoveryService service creation failed.
WSE-00008: Unsupported Oracle home type.

Cause : This error should be treated as an internal error.

Action : Contact Oracle Support Services.

This was run in using a standard windows account. The initial "software only" install was done using a different, built-in windows account..... not sure if this is relevant or not.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Kind regards

Justin
