Compress data to reduce bandwidth?

Is the data transmitted from the agents to the OEM server compressed in any way? I have limited bandwidth available and since it appears most of the data being uploaded is in XML format, compression would be an effective means of reducing bandwidth. Can anyone give me information on whether the agents transmit compressed data or how to make them do so?

Are there any other means of reducing or controlling the bandwidth usage by OEM? Thanks,
