Compiling invalid objects

Dear all,

yesterday in application level they applied one patch ,, so some objects went to invalid state . Now i am compiling then manually to make it valid......

May i know the reason why it(procedures,views,triggers) will go to invalid state

will it cause any probled by making those procedures,views to compile and make it to valid.
