Compatibility ojdbc8 with Oracle 12c R1database

Hello,

I would like to know if ojdbc8.jar (Oracle Thin JDBC driver version 12.2.0.1.0 ; supposed to be the latest JDBC driver of Oracle) is compatible with Oracle 12c R1 (Version : 12.1.0.2.x) ?

In the table of this document :

Oracle JDBC Frequently Asked Questions

Section : "What are the various supported Oracle database version vs JDBC compliant versions vs JDK version supported? "

ojdbc8.jar is indicated only for Oracle "12.2 or 12cR2" ...
