Compatibility of ojdbc8 with Java 7 and JDBC 4.1 , 4.0 ?

Hello,

We would like to work with the latest JDBC Thin driver of Oracle (ojdbc8.jar or version : 12.2.0.1) :

1- I would like to know if the JDK 7 is supported for this driver (saw that it is Java 8 SDK certified),

2- I saw that JDBC 4.2 is supported for this driver. Is there a backward-compatibility with JDBC 4.1 and 4.0 ?
