Compatibility issue with Lotus Notes Windows client

482414Mar 22 2006
I installed OracleXEUniv on Windows XP Pro SP2. When I installed as a domain user, it could never open the database homepage. I installed as the local 'Administrator' user and it will work. However, when I start the IBM Lotus Notes 6.5 client, I receive the following message.

"""
You cannot use the Administration program while the Domino Server is running. Either shut down the Domino Server (but keep the file server running) or choose the icon labeled 'Lotus Notes' instead.
"""

After many reboots and configuration changes, it appears that the user gets set to be a member of 'ora_dba' and not the 'Administrators' group. Changing the user to be a member of the 'Administrators' group appears to correct the problem and Lotus Notes client will work.

Is this the wrong solution or analysis. Please advise. Thanks.
