Column can not define a level in more than one dimension

128685Aug 22 2002
Hello,

I have been trying to define ROLAP cubes in CWM1 via OEM and have run into a limitation, which is that the same column can not be used to define a level in more than one dimension. As an example, imagine that I want to create a Geography hierarchy on a Consumer dimension and on a Store dimension. In both hierarchies I want State.ID to define a level, but when I attempt to define the second dimension, an "ORA-30371: column can not define a level in more than one dimension" error is thrown.

Why does this limitation exist? Is there a workaround? Does this limitation exist in CWM2?

Thank You,
Adrian Gould
