I read oracle docs , clearly it states IN DMT , smon does coalesce.
I never seen any line smon does coalesce in LMT. In LMT , who periodically coalesce process?
In DMT, SMON process wakes up every 5 mins for coalescing free space; but in LMT, it’s not required to coalesce free space periodically as is required in DMT
Locally managed extents automatically tracks adjacent free space, thus eliminating the need to coalesce free extents.
