Client side validation in 5.1: Unwanted pop-up and no translation

Arjan van der Palen - TSFeb 6 2017 — edited Feb 8 2017

Hi all,

does anyone else have issues with the new client side validations in 5.1? When you set a field in a form to 'required' and you leave it empty, before a submit is done the fields are validated. This causes an error to raise and opens a dialog which tells you "Please correct errors before saving" (in English, independent of application language or browser language) as well as notifications inline are shown beneath the invalid items, this time however in the browser language. The messages are not coming from WWV_FLOW_MESSAGES$, and are not in the Application Primary Language.

Does anyone know if there is a possibility to set these messages and the languare they're in? Or is this a bug in the client side validation? I don't want to confuse the end user with different messages in possibly mulitple languages.

I know it is possible to create my own validations but this is a lot more work than the original setting of 'Value Required'.

Thanks,

Arjan van der Palen
