Client_OLE2 very slow

This is in Oracle 10G running windows XP, linux

I'm using webutil Client_OLE2 to read excel file with 55 columns and less than a thousand records(rows). When I run this on my desktop(windows XP, OCJ4 instance) it only took 5-6 minutes to complete. Now, when I transfer the form in server (linux), it took a minute for every row. Anyone here knows how to deal with this performance problem?

The first time I did this, there's little difference in speed. But now the speed is not acceptable.
