click a button in jsp page & send request to servlet & page will not change

i want to send(when a button is clicked) a request to a server side program(servlet/struts ActionServlet to put captured data into a database) from a JSP display page without (changing the current display page) OR (redirecting to the same page again). To send the data ,I don't want to fully travel to the server and get redirected to the same display page again from that servlet. .

Please help me...
