classes12.jar

I have an couple of questions

Is it classes12.jar available separately for windows and linux version or we can use the same classes12.jar for accessing both windows version oracle and linux version oracle.

I got an error "No suitable driver" while accessing linux version of oracle from window version of oracle.
I don't know what caused this exception may be because of driver version clash or some other reason. can any one provide more information on this
