Checking the session state of the user from PHP script.

Hello,

I did not know where to post it so I have decided to ask it here since I am using XE. I would like to pass session number to a PHP script and would like PHP script to check the session state during that call in the Oracle XE. Could some one point me in the right direction on how I would be able to do it in the most portable and standard way. I tried to look it up in the documentation but failed to find anything related to that.
