Check if the DISPLAY variable is set - Failed

Prashant DixitMay 12 2012 — edited May 12 2012
Hi Friends,

While installing oracle *11g R2 on Linux (Red Hat) 5* I'm facing some issues related to DISPLAY setting leading to some Java related exception during launching 'runInstaller'. Please check below.
I'd faced related issues before as well but after setting DISPLAY variable before (OUI) installation start always prevent such issues to occur, tried same steps this time as well but 'no luck'.

Current Setting (Values):
[oracle@localhost database]$ echo $DISPLAY
localhost.localdomain:0.0

[root@localhost database]# echo $DISPLAY
:0.0
[root@localhost database]# xhost +localhost.localdomain
localhost.localdomain being added to access control list
[oracle@localhost database]$ export DISPLAY
[oracle@localhost database]$ echo $DISPLAY
:0.0

Then follows the error message regarding Display settings and a trail of Java Exceptions (Provided Above)

Please Help.

Thanks
