Check for installed JRE/JDK

While installing my software that requires JRE 1.3 or higher, I want to know if JRE is already installed on the client system(to avoid installing again). How do I find out this information through InstallShield? If it is there, how do I get JAVA_HOME? If not already installed, how should I go about installing one automatically from within installshield.
