Check for IDLE TIMEOUT before IDLE TIMEOUT

WoodyInAKJul 21 2009 — edited Dec 7 2010
We recently went live with our new ACES (Additional Compensation Entry System) that replaces the very time consuming Batch Element Entry Spreadsheet Interface in Oracle Payroll. However, we have a new challenge within this application. Everything is working great, however the IDLE TIMEOUT is working too good. The users have asked for a warning message before they actually time out.

We made the process of entering data very easy so that they could enter all of their records 5000 or more before hitting the save button. This was one of the biggest benefits of the system for the users. But now they are at risk of losing data. Yes, we could tell them to save every 5 or 10 minutes but it's a culture thing.

Anyone have any great ideas on how to display a warning message before they actually timeout?

Thanks
