Character set marker unknown

Dear All,

I am running an import on Oracle 10.2 which was taken from oracle 7 and getting the below error:

Connected to: Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - Production
With the Partitioning, OLAP, Data Mining and Real Application Testing options

IMP-00037: Character set marker unknown
IMP-00000: Import terminated unsuccessfully
~
~

The setting for Lang and NLS_Lang are as follows:

LANG=en_GB.UTF-8
NLS_LANG=_.UTF8

The same dmp has worked fine 2 mths earlier.
I tried to set the NLS_LANG to NULL but didn't help.
Any help would be appreciated. Thx.
