Changing the Background Colour of a Popup LOV

Hello. I am using APEX 4. Does anyone know how to easiliy change the background colour of a pop-up LOV? I am using the 'Slate' theme and like it but when black test is placed over a dark grey background it is almost impossible to see. Even changing the colour of the text to white would be acceptable.
